The Global Accelerator brings together pathfinder countries, UN agencies, international financial institutions, public development banks, social partners, civil society, and the private sector to collectively support integrated and coherent employment and social protection policies aimed at reducing inequalities, promoting a job-rich and green recovery and facilitating the inclusive structural transformations needed to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
The Technical Support Facility (TSF) is the operational mechanism that supports the implementation of the Global Accelerator. It brings together the expertise of the UN system, building on the interagency work aiming to provide technical support to countries and support the implementation of the Global Accelerator.
Led by the ILO, it brings together FAO, UNDP, UNICEF, UN Women and WFP to help pathfinder countries translate national commitments into concrete action by providing coordinated technical support, facilitating partnerships and supporting the development and implementation of development cooperation activities.

The Joint SDG Fund is an inter-agency mechanism for strategic financing that incentivizes transformative policy shifts and stimulates strategic investments required to catalyze and accelerate progress on the Sustainable Development Goals at the country level, in areas of integrated policy and financing.
It provides catalytic funding for technical assistance to support the development of social protection, employment and skills policies and the mobilization of domestic resources to finance their implementation.
The UN, through the Technical Support Facility, provides technical support for the implementation of the Global Accelerator. The Joint SDG Fund serves as the financing vehicle to channel catalytic funding to the UN agencies at the country level that support the policy reforms identified by the national roadmaps.

The Multistakeholder Engagement to Implement the Global Accelerator on Jobs and Social Protection for Just Transitions and the World Bank Social Protection and Jobs Compass (M-GA) is a partnership between the United Nations and the World Bank to accelerate progress to achieve universal social protection and create decent and productive employment. It was initiated in 2023, with the support of Germany and Ireland.
By fostering closer collaboration between the UN and the World Bank, the M-GA offers country partners a single point of entry, enables coordinated technical assistance, and strengthens the operational support delivered.
By supporting the Global Accelerator’s country operations and Technical Support Facility, development partners help countries overcome decent jobs and social protection gaps and support the implementation of national development strategies for sustainable development and just transitions.
The Global Accelerator enables technical and financial partners to support government-led policies and programmes with a high return on social, economic, and environmental investments.
The governments of Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Korea, and Spain have been supporting the Global Accelerator. The commitment and support of development partners make the mission of the Global Accelerator a reality.
