Invitation to Discuss Challenges and Opportunities in Leveraging Partnerships to Accelerate the Achievement of Decent Jobs and Universal Social Protection for Just Transitions
On 8 May 2025, the Management Team of the Multistakeholder Engagement for the Global Accelerator and World Bank Compass (M-GA)—comprising the ILO, World Bank, UNICEF, UNDP, UN Women, FAO, and WFP—will convene a high-level, closed-door meeting to discuss the urgent need for coordinated action and enhanced partnerships to achieve universal social protection and decent and productive employment.
This dialogue will bring together current and prospective donors to discuss how coherent technical and financial assistance can support closing coverage and financing gaps. Participants will hear from ILO, World Bank, Joint SDG Fund, UN Resident Coordinators, and donors already engaged in the M-GA, and review progress and achievements to date.
Donors and partners will also be invited to share how they wish to align their technical and financial assistance to the objectives of the M-GA and identify concrete entry points for support.
The meeting will demonstrate how joint UN-World Bank action on universal social protection and decent and productive employment can unlock transformative solutions for just transitions in the face of climate change, demographic shifts, and economic transformation, and help achieve some of the global ambitions of the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development and the World Summit for Social Development.
