Project description
Comprehensive joint programme addressing the transition to formality in Uzbekistan through four integrated workstreams: formalization of employment and social protection, women's economic empowerment and entrepreneurship, digital tools for occupational safety and health compliance in construction, and multi-stakeholder policy coordination on informality. The programme targets 300,000 individuals for expanded social protection coverage and 720,000 low-income persons for improved services.

Cross-agency coordination on informality catalyzed
For the first time, MEPR, MOEF, the Tax Committee and research institutions are working together on formalization policy, overcoming long-standing coordination gaps through the Global Accelerator platform.

Methodologies and toolkits developed for capacity building
Practical tools for women's entrepreneurship selection, digital occupational safety and health compliance, and care economy assessment created and ready for government adoption at scale.

Programme design explicitly prioritizes women, youth, persons with disabilities and migrant workers, moving the principle into a targeting strategy across all workstreams.
