Global Accelerator and M-GA highlights

  • An employment expenditure review and a thorough mapping of ALMPs have been undertaken to determine the extent of public spending on job creation and improved labour market outcomes, and to identify opportunities for new activation programmes.
  • The Tripartite Commission on Equal Opportunities has developed and presented its Action Plan, with social protection coverage for domestic workers and violence and harassment identified as key areas of work.
  • Comprehensive work has been undertaken on just transitions. The government has been supported in measuring green jobs to identify skills gaps and employment opportunities in the green transition, employers are working to include environmental aspects in a future industrial policy, and workers are developing a trade union roadmap for just transitions.
  • The “Emplea PY Joven” programme, an innovative subsidy scheme to foster the labour market integration of youth through formal jobs at MSMEs, and the adoption of the Integrated Strategy for the Formalization of Employment for 2025– 28, reflect the Global Accelerator’s integrated approach.
