L'Accélérateur mondial collabore avec des pays qui disposent d'un potentiel considérable pour amplifier les investissements dans l'emploi et la protection sociale. Cette collaboration prend actuellement deux formes : les pays pionniers et le M-GA, qui permet à des pays non pionniers d'accéder à une expertise technique et à des financements catalytiques pour les engager sur la voie qui mène au statut de pays pionnier. Pays pionniers. Le gouvernement a pris un engagement de haut niveau en faveur d'une feuille de route nationale intégrant les politiques d'emploi et de protection sociale. 20 pays sont pionniers ; ils reçoivent des financements catalytiques du Fonds commun pour les ODD pour lancer l'initiative.
Le M-GA est une modalité de financement. Le partenariat ONU-Banque mondiale soutient les pays selon deux volets : le volet pays pionniers et le volet thématique, qui couvre la fragilité, l'informalité et le changement climatique.
