- Tripartite constituents validated the assessment of Namibia's social protection system against the Social Security (Minimum Standards) Convention, 1952 (No. 102).
- Supporting the national pension system reform, which includes designing and financing pathways for the scheme, actuarial and fiscal considerations, and institutional arrangements.
- Employment Impact Assessments have been undertaken, which helped identify the institutional and operational arrangements needed to anchor EmpIA within Namibia’s policymaking processes.
- Supported the development of the third National Employment Policy, by strengthening policy coherence across the government and to align employment objectives with Namibia’s Sixth National Development Plan (NDP6) and other key national frameworks.
- Launched diagnostic of the informal economy and a draft policy framework to facilitate the transition to formality, for both workers and enterprises. The country is now implementing the plan of action, ensuring that reforms translate into stronger protections, expanded economic opportunities and more resilient livelihoods.
- Collected and analyzed data on Active Labour Market Policies (ALMPs) aimed at employment promotion and the extension of social protection with a focus on disadvantaged and vulnerable groups to inform the design of ALMPs and the production of labour market information statistics.
- An accredited biomass harvesting and processing training was delivered by the National Youth Service to 295 youth, who, after the training, were linked to the labour market through facilitated off-take agreements.
- An Employment and Social Protection Public Expenditure Review is underway and a pro-employment budgeting toolkit under review.
- Namibia has reaffirmed its commitment to the Global Accelerator as a practical platform for advancing its employment and social protection priorities, as expanding social protection is a key agenda for the African Union, as deliberated on during the African Union's Sixth Ordinary Session of the Specialised Technical Committee on Labour, Employment and Social Development in July 2026.
